The ION programme has, quite simply, changed my life.
Thanks to the programme, I have gained in confidence, and started to realise some of my goals. Whilst losing weight was part of this, I have also achieved a far more significant goal: that of gaining control of my eating habits, and understanding my body and mind's needs.
The consultation gave me the chance to explore my own challenges to change, ambitions and current habits. It also provided the understanding of the nutritional content of different foods and how they react in the body. This understanding was key to making the changes in my diet and maintaining them.
The programme is varied and offers many alternatives, meaning that I now actively seek out what is good for my health.
The most valuable thing I got out of it was the guiding principles to eating healthily and maintain one's energy, key factors to being a happy and balanced person.
In summary, ION has gifted me with the tools I need to affect positive, sustained and realistic change in my life. We all know that diet is linked to mental state, but my experience at ION has made me realise just how far reaching the connection is.
