Nutrition courses for you, your life and your career

If you have ever asked yourself: “What should I eat to be healthy?”, then you are not alone. With so much mixed messaging around what is or isn’t meant to be good for us, no wonder there is so much confusion about food. Should we eat fat? Should we eat gluten? Is sugar bad?

We all have to eat, but how do we sort out the fact from fiction?

What research increasingly reveals, however, is that one size does not fit all. We all have our own microbiome (ecosystem of gut bacteria), genetics and DNA, health journey and lifestyle. Even identical twins can respond differently to the same food!

Why Choose ION?

ION has delivered science-informed courses in personalised nutrition since 1984, becoming the UK’s largest training provider in nutritional therapy.

Courses by The Institute for Optimum Nutrition aren’t like other nutrition courses though. Our online courses are validated by the University of Portsmouth, enabling our students to train to the level of expertise that is right for them and their career, with flexible study options.

How are ION’s courses delivered?

We offer all our nutrition courses online, for flexible distance learning. Our courses are offered both full time and part time and are designed to fit around your other commitments. We also offer optional in-person enhancement days.

Who are our nutrition courses for and choosing the right course

The range of courses that we have on offer means that no matter where you are in your nutrition journey, there’s a course suitable for you!

Whether you are starting out on your nutrition journey, are already qualified as a nutritional therapy practitioner, or are a healthcare professional looking to expand your practice, we have the course for you

Those new to nutrition often start out with one of our short courses before deciding if they want to enrol in our nutritional therapy degree programme or one of our longer training courses with a view to choosing nutrition as a career choice.
